There are also some new white and two-tone cultivars. If you remover the pokers when they have finished flowering, the plant will through up some more. Kniphofia needs a sunny spot in good soil. They hate wet feet in the winter so ensure decent drainage. Although Kniphofia is hardy, it is still good to give them some protection from hard frost.
