General information about Tree Mallow (Lavatera):Tree Mallow (Lavatera) is one of the most rewarding flowering plants in the garden. They grow quick and in one decent summer they can grow into a good-sized bush. Tree Mallow wants a spot in the full sun, in normal soil with enough fertilizer. Give them a hand full of fresh compost every spring. Tree Mallow will not survive a severe winter without extra protection, so cover the base of the plant with a good layer of leaves. In spring, cut Tree Mallow back to about 30 cm above ground level. Good neighbour plants for Tree Mallow are Giant Hyssop (Agastache), purple flowering Aster (Aster), Mullein (Verbascum) and Fountain Grass (Pennisetum).Tree Mallow - Lavatera 'Ruby Star'
