General information about Edelweiss (Leontopodium):
Edelweiss (Leontopodium) we all know better as Edelweiss. Edelweiss is a plant from mountainous areas which likes a spot in the full sun, preferably in a chalky, poor soil. The soil may be normally moist as long as it drains well. Unfortunately, Edelweiss is often collected from the wild which is illegal and unnecessary as there are plenty of nurseries that grow it. No rockery is complete without this plant. Good neighbour plants for Edelweiss are Fescue (Festuca) and Sun Rose (Helianthemum).
