Levisticum - Lovage

Levisticum is best known as a flavour enhancer for soups and meat (Maggi). It is a tall plant for in the herb garden. Levisticum can produce certain substances which some other plants do not tolerate. It is better to leave a 1 meter space between Levisticum and other plants. As long as the soil is moist and reasonably fertile Levisticum will grow just about anywhere. Best to give a handful of compost annually.
