General information about Lyme Grass (Leymus):
Lyme Grass (Leymus) is a grass that together with Marram Grass (Ammophila) you will often see in sand dunes along the coast. Lyme Grass produces underground runners and is therefore not very suited for in the border. Better to plant it in a natural garden where it prefers dry to normal soil in the sun. Lyme Grass has blue/green leaves and combines well with the warm colours of Helen's Flower (Helenium). Also nice is planting Lyme Grass in a large terra cotta pot. It will soon fill the pot. Lyme Grass is well suited for planting in coastal areas. Lyme Grass looks good with a large group of Thrift (Armeria) planted in front of them.
