General information about New Zealand Iris (Libertia):New Zealand Iris (Libertia) belongs to the Flag (Iris) family. The plant has tall slender leaves with white flowers on strong stems. New Zealand Iris looks good as a solitary plant surrounded by low ground covering plants such as New Zealand Bur (Acaena). Also, in a modern garden with gravel or in a large pot they look good. The advantage of a pot is that you can bring that inside in winter as New Zealand Iris is not fully hardy in our climate. If you have planted New Zealand Iris in the garden, make sure to cover them with a pack of leaves in winter. New Zealand Iris likes a sheltered position in the sun in normal soil.New Zealand Satin Flower - Libertia ixioides
