General information about Leopard Plant (Ligularia) (Ligularia):
Leopard Plant (Ligularia) is a large genus of mostly large plants with yellow flowers. Just about all Leopard Plants like a spot in the half shade in a normal soil which is moist. More sun is ok as long as plenty moisture is available, for instance alongside a pond. If the soil dries out, the foliage will droop straight away. Especially nice are the varieties of Leopard Plant with warm yellow flowers and brown leaves. Leopard Plants are large plants which appreciate some added compost every spring. It can take a few years before they are fully grown. Slugs are also fond of Leopard Plant, so spread eco-friendly slug pellets early in spring. Combining Leopard Plant with Day Lily (Hemerocallis), Hemp Agrimony (Eupatorium), Goat's Beard (Aruncus) or Astilbe (Astilbe) looks good.
