General information about Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus):
Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus) has yellow pea-like flowers and clover like foliage. Birdsfoot Trefoil grows in the wild in many places and is not too fussy about its soil, as long as it drains well and not too fertile. It does prefer good sunshine. Birdsfoot Trefoil will produce pea pods after flowering. Some varieties have double flowers. Good neighbour plants for Birdsfoot Trefoil are Sandwort (Arenaria), Thrift (Armeria), Carpathian Bellflower (Campanula carpatica), Thyme (Thymus) and Rosemary (Rosmarinus).
