Lupine (Lupinus)

Lupine gehört zu den Schmetterlingsblütlern und bildet große Ähren in vielen schönen Farben. Diese Gartenpflanze kennt fast jeder. Die Lupine steht gerne in der Sonne auf gut durchlässigem Boden, der am besten etwas sauer ist. Die Lebenserwartung der Lupine ist nicht hoch. Die meisten gedeihen nur ein paar Jahre wirklich gut und schwächeln danach. Wenn Sie direkt nach der Blüte die Stängel aus der Pflanze schneiden, steckt die Pflanze keine Energie in die Samenbildung. Dann bekommen Sie eine kräftigere Pflanze mit der Chance für eine zweite Blüte im Nachsommer. Bei der Verwendung der Lupine im Beet verursacht das Zurückschneiden eine kahle Stelle. Pflanzen Sie darum nur Gruppen von maximal 3 Pflanzen, damit die kahle Stelle nicht zu viel auffällt. Die Lupine ist in Cottage- und Bauerngärten unentbehrlich.
