General information about Loosestrife (Lysimachia):Loosestrife (Lysimachia) comes in a great variety of sorts. There are low, creeping but also tall upright species in the colours yellow, white and purple. Also cultivars have been grown with brown or variegated leaves. Normally, Loosestrife wants a moist, slightly acidic soil in the sun or half shade. Some species can become invasive, such as the Yellow Loosestrife (Lysimachia punctata). This is not a problem in a natural planting, but in the border, we would install a root barrier. Loosestrife is a perfect plant for in the border which will combine with many other plants.Dotted Loosestrif - Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander'
