General information about May Lily (Maianthemum):
May Lily (Maianthemum) belongs to the Asparagus family. The plant produces white flowers followed by red berries. May Lily is a woodland plant and therefore likes (half) shade and a normally moist soil. Once well established May Lily will endure periods of drought well. The plant does less well in very alkaline soil. Over time May Lily will form a dense mat and is a good ground cover underneath shrubs and trees.
