Melick  (Melica)

Melick (Melica) is a medium tall grass that likes a spot in the sun or half shade in normal to dry soil. Melick has beautiful flowers. Unfortunately, it will self-seed very easily. If this gets too much for you, just cut away the pinnacle when finished flowering. These can then also be used in flower arranging. Melick is good for a natural garden, combined with Red Valerian (Centranthus), Giant Hyssop (Agastache) and Chamomile (Anthemis).
