Melilotus - Melilot

Melilotus is a genus of legumes with a lot of nectar. As a result, they attract many bees and other insects. Melilotus comes from Mellis (Latin) which means honey. This has to do with the smell. Melilotus is usually short-lived, but with a bit of luck the plant will self-seed. Melilotus likes a spot in full sun on normal to dry soil. The plant does not thrive in acidic soil.
