Mountain Tobacco

Mountain Tobacco  (Arnica)

Mountain Tobacco (Arnica) is the main ingredient in Mountain Tobacco-cream, widely used as a salve for bruising. Mountain Tobacco is a beautiful plant, but can be difficult to grow. The soil must be free of chalk and nutrients. Mountain Tobacco grows best in peat in a lightly shaded position. In summer, the soil should not be allowed to dry out. If you have to water the plant do this with soft water. Mountain Tobacco is now rare in the wild and therefore a protected species.
