Nipponanthemum

Nipponanthemum - Nippon Daisy

Nipponanthemum is closely related to Chrysanthemum and they look very much alike. Plant Nipponanthemum in a sunny spot in well-draining soil. To get a nice full plant you are best cutting it back to 10 cm in spring and then again top the new shoots when they reach 25 cm. The plant will be slightly smaller this way but will reward you with many more flowers. Nipponanthemum flowers late in the season and is therefore a welcome addition in the border. The stems of Nipponanthemum tend to lose their leaves at the bottom through the season. A good neighbour plant which will camouflage this is Sedum.
