Osmunda - Royal Fern

Osmunda is a genus of stately deciduous ferns for in humus rich soil. Osmunda likes a spot in the shade or half shade. They will do in the sun as long as the soil is always moist to wet. Osmunda soon form separate narrow leaves which carry the spores. They are very long living plants which look better year after year. Osmunda looks best planted as a specimen. Good under planting is with Ajuga and Lamium.
