Pachyphragma

Pachyphragma - Caucasian Pennycress

Pachyphragma is a spring flowering plant which is good as a ground cover. The plant has white flowers which attract lots of insects. In a not to hard winter, Pachyphragma will stay green. Pachyphragma likes a spot in half shade in a normally moist soil, but they really are not fussy. Once established, they will sustain periods of drought. Pachyphragma really does not require any maintenance, apart from maybe removing some dead foliage in spring. Because of this, Pachyphragma is a good plant for in difficult areas of the garden. Pachyphragma combines well with Geranium macrorrhizum, Lamiastrum and Carex morrowii.
