General information about Japanese Spurge (Pachysandra):
Japanese Spurge (Pachysandra) is a reliable ground covering perennial and usually ever green. If, after a severe winter, Japanese Spurge looks damaged, just cut it well back. Within no time it will form a new fresh carpet. Japanese Spurge spreads by means of underground rhizomes and is very suited to cover large areas, for instance under shrubs or trees. Alone, they are lost. Plant them in groups. If Japanese Spurge is under trees, you do not have to remove the fallen leaves, they de-compose nicely in-between the plants. The best location for Japanese Spurge is grows in half shade in humus rich, normally moist soil. Japanese Spurge combines well with Rock Cranesbill (Geranium macrorrhizum) and Yellow Archangel (Lamiastrum).
