General information about Golden Ragwort (Packera):Golden Ragwort (Packera) is a genus of plants which are closely related to Ragwort. Golden Ragwort as a genus includes both bi- and perennial plants, usually all with yellow flowers. Golden Ragworts grow in the most varying places, but as a rule they all like sun to half shade and a normally moist soil. A few species of Golden Ragwort are well suited as ground cover in large gardens or in a natural planting. The species 'lutea' is a good example here. They combine well with Comfrey (Symphytum), White Wood Aster (Aster divaricatus) and Mountain Fleece (Persicaria amplexicaulis). After flowering, grey seed heads appear. If you do not want the plant to self-seed, cut these away. Insects are very fond of Golden Ragwort as their nectar is easily accessible.Golden Groundsel - Packera aurea
