Pasqueflower

Pasqueflower  (Pulsatilla)

Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla) has nice flowers in spring followed by fluffy seed heads. The foliage is covered with fine hairs. Most species of Pasqueflower do well in slight alkaline soil in the sun or half shade. Ensure good drainage, especially in winter. Pasqueflower is perfect for the rockery but also us under planting of shrubs. Once established, Pasqueflower will withstand drought well. Good companion plants for Pasqueflower are Candytuft (Iberis), Bloody Cranesbill (Geranium sanguineum), Dwarf Iris (Iris pumila), Sun Rose (Helianthemum) and low Bellflower (Campanula).
