General information about Masterwort (Peucedanum) (Peucedanum):
Masterwort (Peucedanum) is a genus of umbel forming perennials. They like a normal to moist spot in slight alkaline, fertile soil. Shade is tolerated quite well by Masterwort and this does enhance the flowers. If Masterwort self-seeds too much, cut away the flower stem when they have gone over. This will also help future growth of the plant. It may take a few years for Masterwort to establish properly. They attract a lot of insects and look good in the border or in a natural garden. Good neighbours for Masterwort are Monkshood (Aconitum) and Cranesbill (Geranium).
