General information about Canary Grass (Phalaris):Canary Grass (Phalaris) is a genus of grasses with reed like leaves. The foliage sometimes is used to make Ayahuasca, a psychedelic thee. Canary Grass will grow in most soils, as long as not too dry. The plant likes sun to half shade. If happy, Canary Grass can sometimes spread too much and become invasive. A root barrier will prevent this. If the leaves go brown, for instance after a period if drought, just cut Canary Grass plant right back. It will soon form new leaves again. In a natural planting, Canary Grass looks good combined with Loosestrife (Lysimachia) and Knotweed (Persicaria).Ribbon Grass - Phalaris arundinacea 'Picta'
