Phuopsis - Caucasian Crosswort

Phuopsis is a short living mat forming perennial with an abundance of flowers. The plant looks like Galium, but has a different colour. Plant Phuopsis in the sun or half shade in a normal soil. Avoid a dry position that does not get any shade. Phuopsis is suitable for in the rockery or in front of the border. Also it can be used as under planting of open shrubs (roses) or along the edge of paths. If you cut Phuopsis back slightly after its first flowering it will stimulate it to form a nice mat. Try planting Phuopsis around tall flowering plants such as Delphinium and Baptisia.
