Poppy Mallow

Poppy Mallow  (Callirhoe)

Poppy Mallow (Callirhoe) is a genus of plants from America. The plants have striking flowers and goes well in the rockery, together with, for example, Blue Fescue (Festuca glauca), Sun Rose (Helianthemum) or Cheddar Pink (Dianthus gratianopolitanus). Poppy Mallow demands a good draining soil, especially in the winter. Its tap-root ensures that the plant is quite drought resistant. By cutting away the dead flowers you will prolong the flowering season of Poppy Mallow.
