Portulak  (Montia)

Portulak ist ein vergessenes Gemüse mit schönen Blüten. Die Pflanze kann gut als Bodendecker an einem Standort im (Halb-)Schatten mit normalem bis mäßig feuchtem Boden verwendet werden. Dort kann der Portulak sich frei aussäen. Das ist sehr gut, da der Portulak im Allgemeinen nicht sehr lange lebt. Die jungen Blätter können Sie regelmäßig ernten und im Salat gebrauchen. Wenn der Portulak sich zu viel aussät, dann ist es einfach, die überzähligen Pflänzchen zu entfernen.

General information about Purslane (Montia):
Purslane (Montia) is a forgotten vegetable with nice flowers. The plant is good as a ground cover in (half)shade in normal to moist soil. There, Purslane will freely self-seed, which is good as Purslane does usually not live for very long. If grown like this you can regularly harvest leaves for in the salad. If it spreads too much, they are easily weeded.
