General information about Cinquefoil (Potentilla):Cinquefoil (Potentilla) is a large genus of shrubs and perennials. It is the last group we have in our assortment. Cinquefoil has pretty, dish shaped flowers which sometimes can be double. They prefer a spot in the sun in well-draining, fertile soil, ideally containing some lime. Cinquefoil comes in creeping, upright or clinging species. The plants from the first group do not grow taller than about 15 cm and are good for in the rockery or as ground cover. The upright and clinging species are good in the border, where the clinging one's cat grow nicely into other plants. For a nice grey or blue contrast plant Mugwort (Artemisia), Cheddar Pink (Dianthus gratianopolitanus) or Blue Fescue (Festuca glauce) next to Cinquefoil.Alpine Cinquefoil - Potentilla crantzii 'Goldrausch'
