The plants from the first group do not grow taller than about 15 cm and are good for in the rockery or as ground cover. The upright and clinging species are good in the border, where the clinging one's cat grow nicely into other plants. For a nice grey or blue contrast plant Artemisia, Dianthus gratianopolitanus or Festuca glauca next to Potentilla.
