Prachtkerze

Prachtkerze  (Gaura)

General information about Bee Blossom (Gaura):
Bee Blossom (Gaura) is a must in every garden. Even though the plant is not fully hardy in the UK, it is still well worth planting. It has lots of small butterfly like flowers and a very long flowering period. Use Bee Blossom in planters or along the edge of a path or patio. Also good in borders to fill gaps where the spring flowering bulbs have finished. In a dry prairie garden Bee Blossom is nice combined with ornamental grasses, Aster (Aster), Yarrow (Achillea), Coneflower (Echinacea) and Beebalm (Monarda). Bee Blossom prefers a spot in the sun in a dry, well-draining soil. If you do cut the plant well back in September this will increase the chance of it retuning the following year. Bee Blossom is best planted in spring. The foliage of many varieties of Bee Blossom will go mottled red or completely red in the summer. This is as it should be and has no ill effect on the plants.
