Prachtscharte  (Liatris)

Prachtscharte hat große, dicke Ähren, die von oben nach unten blühen, im Gegensatz zu fast allen anderen Pflanzen mit ährenförmigen Blüten. In Beeten findet man die Prachtscharte nicht mehr oft, was sehr schade ist. Sie bietet einen schönen vertikalen Akzent, vor allem, wenn sie nicht zu weit auseinander und in Gruppen von mindestens 5 Pflanzen gepflanzt wird. Außerdem ist die Prachtscharte eine gute Schnittblume und die Blüten ziehen viele Schmetterlinge und andere Insekten an. Die Prachtscharte ist langlebig und gedeiht auf beinahe jedem Boden, so lange der Standort sonnig ist. Pflanzen Sie Pflanzen mit breiten Blättern und/oder schalenförmigen Blüten daneben, z. B. Sonnenhut (Echinacea), Storchschnabel (Geranium), Malve (Malva) und Sterndolde (Astrantia).

General information about Blazing Star (Liatris):
Blazing Star (Liatris) forms fat erect flowering spikes which flower from top to bottom. This is in contrast to nearly all other plants which produce flower spikes. Blazing Star is not often enough seen in borders which is a shame. They give a lovely vertical effect, especially when planted not too far apart and in groups of at least 5 plants. Blazing Star is also a good cut flower and the flowers attract a lot of butterflies and insects. They are long living plants which will grow in almost any soil as long as they get some sunshine. Blazing Star looks good when planted next to plants with broad leaves or dish shaped flowers such as Coneflower (Echinacea), Cranesbill (Geranium), Mallow (Malva) or Masterwort (Astrantia).
