Präriegras  (Schizachyrium)

Präriegras gehört zu einer Gattung von Gräsern, die auf der ganzen Welt wachsen. Die Art Schizachyrium scoparium ist ein prächtiges Gras für den Garten. Viele Arten haben grau- oder blaugrüne Blätter, die sich im Laufe des Spätsommers violett, braun-rot und orange färben. Das Präriegras bildet schöne Ähren, die auch im Winter noch stolz aufrecht stehen. Das Präriegras liebt einen Platz in der Sonne auf fruchtbarem, gut durchlässigem Boden, der trocken bis normal feucht ist. Pflanzen Sie doch einmal Sonnenhut (Rudbeckia), Garbe (Achillea) in einer warmen Farbe, Sonnenbraut (Helenium) und Fackellilie (Kniphofia) daneben. Das Präriegras lässt sich auch gut in einem großen Topf auf der Terrasse halten.
