Prairie June Grass (Koeleria) is a grey/green grass in stony, poor and dry soil. If the soil has too many nutrients, the plant will grow too fast and collapse. In poor ground Prairie June Grass can stay healthy for a long time. The flower pinnacles of Prairie June Grass sit nicely above the clump, like a torch. Prairie June Grass is good for in the rockery but also in dry pots or on so called 'living roofs'. Prairie June Grass grows well with Sun Rose (Helianthemum), Carnation (Dianthus), Cotton Lavender (Santolina) and low Stonecrop (Sedum).
