General information about Primrose (Primula):
Primrose (Primula) is a genus with recognizable flowers. There is a Primrose for every spot in the garden, from dry to wet soil, from sun to shade. All species of Primrose have a leaf rosette from which the flower grows. Most species of Primrose do well in normal to moist soil in the half shade. There is a very wide variation grow- and flower form with Primrose. They also cross easily between each other. Most species flower in spring. Nice spring flowering neighbours for Primrose are Grecian Windflower (Anemone blanda), Shamrock Plant (Oxalis), Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla), Rockfoil (Saxifraga arendsii), Horned Violet (Viola cornuta) and Corsican Speedwell (Veronica repens).
