Primula - Primrose

Primula is a genus with recognizable flowers. There is a Primula for every spot in the garden, from dry to wet soil, from sun to shade. All species of Primula have a leaf rosette from which the flower grows. Most species of Primula do well in normal to moist soil in the half shade. There is a very wide variation grow- and flower form with Primula. They also cross easily between each other. Most species flower in spring. Nice spring flowering neighbours for Primula are Anemone blanda, Oxalis, Pulsatilla, Saxifraga arendsii, Viola cornuta and Veronica repens.
