General information about Self Heal (Prunella):
Self Heal (Prunella) is a low, ground covering perennial for in the sun or half shade. Self Heal will pretty much grow anywhere, especially if the soil contains some lime. Once established, Self Heal will tolerate spell of drought quite well. If it starts self-seeding too much, just cut out the flower stems after they have finished flowering. This will also stimulate a second flowering. Self Heal is attractive to many insects. When the flowers have finished flowering, they somewhat resemble woven bee hives. Self Heal is good for in the natural garden, together with Blue Green Sedge (Carex flacca).
