General information about Rhubarb (Rheum):
Rhubarb (Rheum) is a genus of perennials for in moist and fertile soil in sun or half shade. Most species form large clumps with big leaves. Give Rhubarb enough feed annually to sustain this growth. The species 'rhabarbarum' has been grown for centuries as a vegetable. These want a loose soil in the sun or half shade. The available species Rhubarb which are grown for their ornamental value, ask for strong neighbour plants, such as Hemp Agrimony (Eupatorium), Mountain Fleece (Persicaria amplexicaulis), Meadow Rue (Thalictrum), Goat's Beard (Aruncus) or Marsh Fern (Thelypteris).
