Rupturewort  (Herniaria)

Rupturewort (Herniaria) is a genus of low-growing plants, formerly used for the treatment of hernias. Used as an evergreen ground cover Rupturewort deserves to be better known. Rupturewort wants a place in the sun in a dry spot with good drainage. The flowers of Rupturewort are quite insignificant but the plant is very useful as under planting for taller plants such as Lavender (Lavandula), Spurge (Euphorbia), Bee Blossom (Gaura), Catmint (Nepeta) and tall Stonecrop (Sedum).
