General information about Sage (Salvia):
Sage (Salvia) is a large and varied genus of both annual and perennials. Nearly all species of Sage like the sun and reasonably dry soil. Some species are excellent to use in the kitchen, for example Culinary Sage (Salvia officinalis). Other species spread a lovely scent. One of the best species for in the border is Woodland Sage (Salvia nemorosa), which is available in a variety of colours. These plants attract plenty of insects and butterflies.
