General information about Burnet (Sanguisorba):
Burnet (Sanguisorba) is a genus of well hardy perennials. They all have finely toothed leaves and flowers that can be either upright or hanging. Burnet naturally grows in moist soil but in the garden they will also do all right in normal soil. Burnet is an easy plant that prefers a spot in the sun or half shade. The plant looks good in a natural planting, together with ornamental grasses. Because of its open way of flowering, Burnet also sits well in a border, combined with say, Monkshood (Aconitum), Siberian Iris (Iris sibirica), Leopard Plant (Ligularia) or Garden Speedwell (Veronica longifolia).
