Saruma - Upright Wild Ginger

Saruma has not long been in cultivation and is still relatively unknown. This is a shame as Saruma has a lot of good characteristics. The soft yellow flowers of Saruma sit on top of nice, slight hairy leaves. Also, this flower colour is more than welcome in a shady spot. It does not flower in an abundance but it does produce flowers for a long period. The new leaves appear first in a grey/brown colour. Good neighbour plants for Saruma are dark leaved Actaea and ferns with fine lobed leaves.
