General information about Saxifrage (Saxifraga):
Saxifrage (Saxifraga) is a large genus of plants which grow under very different conditions. These vary from sun to shade and from dry to wet. Saxifrage can flower from early in spring to late in autumn. So, every garden will have a spot for a Saxifrage. The mat forming species are good in a sunny spot in the rockery. The plants with somewhat larger leaves (sometimes nicely marked) on the whole prefer a spot in the shade. Nearly all species of Saxifrage are well hardy with us.
