Schaublatt

Schaublatt  (Rodgersia)

General information about Rodgers Flower (Rodgersia):
Rodgers Flower (Rodgersia) is straight away recognizable by its large palmate leaves. It is a very hardy, slow growing perennial. It takes a few years to mature but then you get a reliable eye-catching plant. The foliage of some varieties has dark colours especially in spring. The flowers of Rodgers Flower can vary between white to pinky/red. After flowering, the stems are still attractive for a long time. Rodgers Flower wants a spot in the (half) shade in fertile, normal soil which may be moist. A spot in the sun is ok as long as the plant gets enough moisture. They appreciate a gift of fresh compost in spring. Rodgers Flower is a late starter in spring and it is good to plant spring flowering bulbs in-between them, such as Snowdrop (Galanthus) and Squill (Scilla). Good strong neighbour plants for Rodgers Flower are Indian Rhubarb (Darmera), Astilbe (Astilbe), Mountain Fleece (Persicaria amplexicaulis) and Royal Fern (Osmunda).
