General information about Cordgrass (Spartina):Cordgrass (Spartina) is a nice hanging grass. The plant wants a spot in the sun and fertile, moist soil. If the soil is less moist, the plant will not grow to its full potential. The very nice leaves are very useful in flower arranging, especially the variegated ones. Cordgrass colours to a bright yellow in autumn. The plants spread by underground rhizomes and therefore is less suited for a smaller garden, unless you use a root barrier of plant it in a pot. Cordgrass looks good near a natural pond, planted near Hemp Agrimony (Eupatorium), Goat's Beard (Aruncus) or Leopard Plant (Ligularia).Prairie Cordgrass - Spartina pectinata 'Aureomarginata'
