Schönaster

Schönaster  (Kalimeris)

Schönaster ist nahe mit der gewöhnlichen Aster verwandt. Es sind starke Stauden mit buschigem Wuchs, die auf fast jedem Boden gedeihen. Sie vertragen auch trockenen Boden sehr gut. Die Schönaster steht am liebsten in der Sonne bis Halbschatten. Im Gegensatz zur gewöhnlichen Aster hat die Schönaster keine Probleme mit Mehltau. Die Schönaster ist an vielen Orten einsetzbar, von Beet bis Naturgarten. Die niedrig bleibenden Arten gedeihen auch in großen Töpfen sehr gut. Es gibt viele Pflanzen, die gut neben der Schönaster wirken, z. B. Herbstanemone (Anemone), Steppensalbei (Salvia nemorosa), Taglilie (Hemerocallis), Lampenputzergras (Pennisetum), Goldrute (Solidago) und Hohe Bart-Schwertlilie (Iris germanica). Die Blüten der Schönaster ziehen viele Insekten an. Wenn die ausgeblühten Blüten regelmäßig entfernt werden, blüht die Schönaster bis in den Oktober.
