Scotch Lovage

Scotch Lovage  (Ligusticum)

Scotch Lovage (Ligusticum) is an umbel forming plant which can be found in the wild along the coast of Scotland. Scotch Lovage is related to the 'regular' Lovage but does not grow anywhere as large. Therefore Scotch Lovage is very suited to an herb garden in a not too large garden. It has a light 'Maggi' taste. Scotch Lovage is a strong and easy plant which will grow in any garden soil as long as fertile enough. Give Scotch Lovage a hand full of compost in the spring. Apart from in the herb garden Scotch Lovage is also good in the border as they are not many umbel flowering plants in this small shape. Scotch Lovage looks good next to yellow/green and blue neighbour plants.
