Segge  (Carex)

Segge ist eine sehr vielfältige Gattung von laubabwerfenden und wintergrünen Pflanzen, die in der ganzen Welt beheimatet sind. Die Ähren der Segge sind meist nicht so interessant, das Blatt aber umso mehr. Ein allgemeines Merkmal der Pflanze ist der dreikantige Stängel. Die meisten Arten bevorzugen einen normalen bis feuchten Boden, es gibt aber auch Seggenarten, die, sobald sie sich gut eingewurzelt haben, auch noch im trockenen Schatten gedeihen.
