Seifenkraut  (Saponaria)

Seifenkraut ist eine Gattung von halbhohen bis kissenformenden Stauden. Die Wurzeln und Blätter des Seifenkrauts wurden früher genutzt, um damit zu waschen. Es sind pflegeleichte Pflanzen, die gerne in der Sonne und auf einem normalen bis trockenen Boden wachsen. Die niedrigen Seifenkraut-Arten sind für den Steingarten geeignet. Die Art Saponaria officinalis kann am besten in einem natürlichen Beet verwendet werden, da sie die Neigung hat zu wuchern. Geeignete Nachbarn sind kleine Glockenblume (Campanula), Ähren-Ehrenpreis (Veronica spicata), Scheinsteinsame (Lithodora) und Blauschwingel (Festuca glauca).

The species Common Soapwort (Saponaria officinalis) is best in a natural planting because they can grow quite wild. Good neighbours for Soapwort are low growing Bellflower (Campanula), Spiked Speedwell (Veronica spicata), Shrubby Gromwell (Lithodora) and Blue Fescue (Festuca glauca).
