Packaging, shipping and delivery
Packaging: The plants you have purchased are carefully packed. We have developed a unique system for this - although it may sometimes be necessary to cut the plants back a little because they wouldn't fit in the box otherwise. This is a pity, but does not affect the quality of the plant. On the contrary, several new runners often form. Many plants are also regularly pruned in the nursery. This allows the plant to branch out better and become stronger. It is therefore possible that you will receive plants that have been (partially) cut back.
Your plants will be labelled with clear information when they are packed.
Shipping: Your order will be shipped with the Dutch PostNL, a reliable parcel delivery service with an extensive partner network throughout Europe. For deliveries to Germany, for example, PostNL works with Hermes and DHL, among others.
When entering your address details, you can also select a different delivery address, e.g. the address of your workplace. This is useful if you are not at home during the day. However, you can also enter a delivery message in the comments field, e.g. “If not at home, please leave with the neighbours at No. 10” or “No one at home, please put the plants under the carport”.
On the day we have shipped your parcel, you will receive an e-mail in the evening with a track & trace link that you can use to track your parcel. In general, your parcel will be delivered within 2 to 5 working days from the date of dispatch, depending on your country of residence. If you are not at home, your plants will usually be left with your neighbours. If this is also not possible, another attempt will be made to deliver the parcel the next day. If you are not at home, your parcel may also be delivered to a service centre in your area. You will then be notified by the delivery service.
We do our best to prevent damage during transport. However, things can go wrong en route. Young plants in particular are very sensitive in spring. It can therefore not be completely ruled out that your plants will be slightly damaged during transport. In most cases, the plant itself does not suffer, but it is not a pretty sight. We regret this and ask for your understanding in this case!
If you notice major damage when you receive your parcel, it is best to take a photo. Email this to us together with your complaint. We will do our utmost to solve the problem in an appropriate manner.
Delivery information: Deliveries are only possible to delivery addresses in countries according to the table below. Do you live in the EU but your country is not listed? Please contact us and we will see what options are available.
Shipping costs: The shipping costs depend on the number of plants, the size of the pot and the country to which they are sent.
Our assortment consists almost exclusively of plants in a square pot of 9 cm. Of these, 24 fit into one box. A small proportion of our plants are in a square pot of 11 cm. Of these, 15 fit into a box. The shipping costs listed below refer to plants in 9 cm pots. For example, if you order 20 plants in a 9 cm pot and 4 plants in an 11 cm pot, we will need 2 boxes. The shipping costs then fall into the group of 25 - 48 plants. If a particular plant is in a pot of 11 cm, this will be clearly indicated in the description of the plant.
All prices are inclusive of VAT.

Delivery: Please unpack the plants as soon as possible after receiving them. The plants have been sufficiently watered before despatch, but when it is warm, the plant evaporates a lot of moisture; therefore always check that the soil does not feel dry in the meantime and water the plants if necessary. If the plants are very dry, place them in a container of water so that the root ball can soak up the water.
Place the plants in the shade until you are ready to plant them in their final location in the garden. You can wait a few weeks before planting, but please remove the pots from the plant trays. This is because (rain)water remains in them and this can cause the roots to rot.
As long as the plants are not yet planted, they are more sensitive than in the garden and need to be checked daily.
Planting: The soil in which you plant the perennials must be loose enough and free of (root) weeds. A generous planting hole will help the plant to take root. Mix potting compost or compost through the garden soil if necessary. Be careful when using fertilised garden soil. It sometimes contains harsh fertilisers that can damage young roots.
Water the plants abundantly after planting so that the roots can make good contact with the soil around them. In the first few weeks after planting, the plants have not yet formed enough new roots to provide themselves with sufficient water even in dry periods. Therefore, take good care of your plants.
As our plants are grown in pots, they can in principle be planted all year round, even in summer. However, you need to take very good care of the plants when planting in dry and warm weather. You can read special information on this topic here.
If you receive the perennials in (late) autumn and would like to know more about planting at this time of year, please click here.
If you would like recommendations or advice on planting or caring for your plants, please feel free to contact us. It is also important to us that the plants we supply feel at home in your garden and that you can enjoy them to the full. With the right care, we guarantee a plant that will develop well.
