Shrubby Evening Primrose  (Calylophus)

Shrubby Evening Primrose (Calylophus) is closely related to Evening Primrose (Oenothera). Within the genus Shrubby Evening Primrose there are a few species which are shrub like. The large flowers open up in the evening and will flower into the next day. After that they will go over, but that does not matter as Shrubby Evening Primrose produces many flowers over a long period. They prefer a spot in the sun in a normal, not to fertile soil. Nice neighbour plants for Shrubby Evening Primrose are Lamb's Ear (Stachys byzantina), white Catmint (Nepeta) and dark blue Woodland Sage (Salvia nemorosa).
