General information about Goldenrod (Solidago):
Goldenrod (Solidago) is a genus of upright strong perennials. For a long time Goldenrod was neglected because of its invasive behaviour and yellow colour. Through breeding, we now have varieties which are much better suited to the garden. They are not invasive anymore and the colour has mellowed. Goldenrod is an easy plant for in normal soil and sunshine. Half shade will also do. Goldenrod has a natural look, attracts lots of insects and is therefore good in a natural setting. Also in a colourful border Goldenrod has its place together with Giant Hyssop (Agastache), Aster (Aster), Bellflower (Campanula), Helen's Flower (Helenium) and Globe Thistle (Echinops).
