Sonnenauge  (Heliopsis)

Sonnenauge ist eine Gruppe gut winterharter Stauden. Sie sind meistens etwas kleiner als die ähnlich aussehende Sonnenblume. Das Sonnenauge möchte gerne einen Standort in der vollen Sonne, wenige Schattenstunden am Tag werden jedoch auch noch gut vertragen. Es wächst am liebsten auf gutem Boden mit ausreichend Nährstoffen. Geben Sie den Pflanzen eventuell jährlich im Frühling etwas Kompost. Das Sonnenauge passt wunderbar in einen ländlichen Garten oder in eine natürliche Anpflanzung, da es auch viele Schmetterlinge anzieht. Vom Sonnenauge sind auch einige Züchtungen mit bunten Blättern im Handel. Diese sehen außergewöhnlich aus, sind aber leider nicht so starkwüchsig wie die grünblättrigen Arten. Gute Partner sind Rutenhirse (Panicum), Rittersporn (Delphinium), hohe Aster (Aster),  Indianernessel (Monarda) und Duftnessel (Agastache).
